When we moved in over the summer, I painted all the walls, ceilings, doors, and closets including this linen closet upstairs. Jeff put in new shelves for me. Fact of the matter, I really like clean, organized closets!
Then it was time to organize….ooooo, the fun part! There are lots of plastic containers of all shapes and sizes. I usually like containers more uniform but in this case, it worked better to choose containers to suit the items.
The top shelf contains hazardous toilet cleaning supplies and extra items I don’t need everyday.
The white and clear bins contain groups of things like sun care, allergy meds, ointments, kids’ meds, etc. The drawer container holds cotton balls, swabs, make up applicators.
The towels are old extra ones that I still want to have on hand for cleaning. Extra pillows and blankets are down below, even though it’s a sloping bottom due the the staircase below.
My favorite shelf is the sheet shelf. I cleaned out our sheet stash and sold a lot at our garage sale. I kept only 2 sets of sheets per bed, and only ones that matched our current decor and that were in good condition. The sheets are in back while matching pillow cases are up front. I Googled how to fold fitted bed sheets, and am so glad to have those folded flat now!
We may not have remodeled bathrooms yet, but the happy closet will keep me content for awhile. 😉
How about your linen closets? Have any organizing tips for us? Or do you need to do an overhaul like I did?
