When I saw egg prices nearing five dollars even at Aldi recently,

I knew we had to share our popular eggless recipes with the world as soon as possible.

Believe it or not, you can make delicious cookies, cake, brownies, waffles, and more with absolutely no eggs.

I’ll show you how because we’ve been doing it for years!

And so have our readers with food allergies.

Save your eggs for omelets and to scramble.

But for everything else, see our list of egg-free recipes below.

So many eggless treats to be made.

And yes, they taste delicious. You won’t even miss the egg!

THREE WAYS TO COOK WITHOUT EGGS

Basically, there are three ways I get around egg in my recipes.

  • no egg at all
  • unsweetened applesauce for egg
  • ground flax mixed in water for egg

I’ve never used expensive egg replacer because these three methods work!

I’ll break our egg-free recipes into these three categories so you can quickly choose what works for you.

If you aren’t dairy-free, just use your dairy ingredients like milk and butter if our recipes call for it.

And please let me know in the comments if you have any questions, I’m happy to help.

Here are our favorite tried-and-true recipes without egg!

RECIPES THAT TAKE NO EGG AT ALL

1. WAFFLES – These are very freezer friendly, too, so feel free to freeze some for later.

2. PANCAKES – You’ll see these are very similar to the waffle recipe. So basic and easy.

3. SCONES – Chocolate chips or frozen blueberries are delicious in these.

4. BREAKFAST COOKIES – Unique and so good, like soft granola bars. Very popular here.

5. CHOCOLATE CAKE – Save even more money by skipping the frosting and just sprinkle with powdered sugar. That’s how our grandmothers ate it. Still so good.

6. BROWNIES – These do call for chocolate chips, but it’s my son’s favorite dessert.

7. MEATBALLS – Since these usually call for egg, I thought I’d throw them into our list. They are amazing without egg and get rave reviews.

RECIPES THAT USE APPLESAUCE FOR EGG

Grab a large jar of unsweetened applesauce to keep in your refrigerator for these recipes.

You won’t taste it, promise.

8. BANANA BREAD – This is one of our top recipes since 2008 and can be made into muffins in half the time.

9. PUMPKIN BREAD – Another frugal recipe with basic pantry ingredients. Canned pumpkin is at least cheap right now.

10. DROP SUGAR COOKIES – Basic pantry ingredients. Frosting is optional.

11. BLUEBERRY MUFFINS – Using frozen berries from Aldi or Sam’s makes these really inexpensive.

RECIPES THAT USE GROUND FLAXSEED EGG

Flax eggs may sound the most daunting, but they are truly so easy.

They are best used in recipes that call for just one to two eggs.

Store a bag of ground flax in your freezer for making these eggless recipes whenever you want.

Here’s how to make a flax egg.

12. CINNAMON ROLLS – These will raise beautifully, you won’t even miss the egg!

13. CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE PIE – We make this for guests on the regular. Nobody knows it’s egg free.

14. SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES – Well loved by our readers for over a decade. Simple and tasty.

15. BROWN SUGAR COOKIES – Like molasses cookies, but with basic pantry ingredients. Frugal.

16. FRENCH TOAST – We were one of the first to create flax French toast in 2006. You’ll love the subtle nutty taste!
