When our son was first diagnosed with life-threatening food allergies more than a decade ago, one of the tips our allergist gave us was to be careful about hot dogs and sausage. There could be hidden ingredients, she said.
That little tip stayed with me all these years so we were very leery about hot dogs.
But I kept hearing how Hebrew National’s more pure ingredients were working for milk allergy families so we finally decided to give them a shot.
And we’ve been eating them ever since.
My sons love Hebrew National hot dogs on dairy-free buns or diced up in baked beans.
It’s been a great quick food for us, and my kids often request it on our road trips. It’s just so easy to pick these up in Walmart just about anywhere.
Roasting them on a fire at home with a side of smores ain’t too bad, either!
These taste so much better than the hot dogs I grew up with. Once you try them, you’ll never go back to cheap hot dogs again. Hebrew National is definitely worth the cost.
Safe hot dog buns, unfortunately, are harder to find. Read labels carefully, and hopefully you can find a brand that works for you!
