My son is a meatball fanatic.
Make the boy meatballs, and he’ll love me forever.
We make dairy-free, egg-free, wheat-free meatballs in marinara for special pasta nights,
but were recently invited to a party with barbecue meatball appetizers on the menu.
While we can’t trust anyone else to cook for my son,
we were determined to bring our own safe version because my boy would be devastated to miss out on meatballs!
The following recipe is what I came up with,
easy allergy-friendly slow cooker meatballs that taste totally normal and actually delicious!
All family members with random food allergies were able to enjoy these.
In fact, I’m in charge of BBQ meatballs enough for everyone from now on.
Hope you can share this tasty appetizer at your next party, too!
BARBECUE MEATBALLS DAIRY EGG WHEAT FREE
MEATBALL RECIPE
Simply make up meatballs using this recipe.
This makes 24 1″ meatballs.
Brown the raw meatballs in a large skillet.
Add browned meatballs to the bottom of a GREASED crock pot.
SIMPLE BARBECUE SAUCE
3/4 cup of Sweet Baby Ray’s Original Barbecue Sauce
1/4 Cup Ketchup
Mix the two ingredients above to make your barbecue sauce.
BARBECUE MEATBALLS
Gently toss the meatballs in the sauce until they are covered.
Cook the barbecue meatballs in your slow cooker for 1 hour on high or for 3 hours on low or until the meat is cooked through.
Once cooked, turn your slow cooker to warm and let guests enjoy hot meatball appetizers at their leisure.
Hope you enjoy these dairy-free, egg-free, wheat-free barbecue meatballs as much as we do!
