Hey allergy friend,
You are probably stopping in for more information about desensitizing food allergies.
Also known as oralimmunotherapy or OIT.
And hey, we’d love to help!
We are blessed to be desensitizing my son’s anaphylactic milk allergy for the past 1.5 years.
Thankfully, it’s going better than I ever expected.
Unlike many food allergy leaders before us, we decided to NOT do this treatment in secret.
No, in fact, we share our entire OIT diary inside our membership.
Plus, we give occasional updates on our FB page and on Instagram.
Because we appreciate all the families who have followed and supported us over the past decade.
Our mission is always to inspire you, and this is the dream, right?! (Next to natural outgrowing, of course.)
We know many of you have never even heard of desensitizing food allergies before.
Or some of you, like me, have heard of it but are certain it would never work for your kiddo.
Let me encourage you, we’ve used an epi-pen for milk reaction before (before OIT).
We had contact reactions to milk before.
My son almost died from his first exposure to milk at 8 months.
he’s met his goal of eating REAL cheese pizza…
while successfully continuing on toward his goal of MILK ice cream.
If we can do it, many of you can, too.
It will just take an excellent, experienced board certified allergist,
some inspiration from allergy families going before you,
and some courage, determination, patience, diligence,
and a body able to tolerate very slow introduction only under doctor supervision.
We are incredibly blessed to have our OIT allergist immunologist partnering with us here at Milk Allergy Mom…
passing along cutting edge information that can help you take this big step.
In fact, many families in our membership have started (and even graduated!) OIT…
because of the encouragement and information Dr. Siri shares with us.
While we have several OIT videos inside our membership,
here is a public video with did with Dr. Siri recently.
She turns the tables, and ends up interviewing ME about our OIT experience.
I’m so glad she did!
Hopefully you are encouraged and inspired.
If you’re a milk OIT patient yourself or have any questions, we’d love to hear from you in the comments.
Milk OIT is only growing and starting the conversation is going to help so many families coming behind us. xo
