Always check dates labels as ingredients can change.
For several years, I was part of a food coop, and I loved getting dates in bulk.
But as you may know, there’s a food allergy rule that in general…
bulk bins are out.
That’s because someone has handled the food.
And there’s a risk of allergen contamination.
Or worse yet, others have contaminated the bulk products.
Not worth it.
So when I found these pre-packaged dates from SunSweet…
we burst into happy cheers!
What do we do with these sweet pitted dates?
Well, we just eat them plain from the bag, ha!
However, many health-conscious people turn these into a paste and use them as a natural sweetener.
That could be fun for a lot of dairy-free recipes.
But I just haven’t gotten that fancy.
These are simply a natural snack from the bag in our family.
Hope you can find and enjoy these dairy-free dates for your allergy family, too!
