Caramel Syrup By Torani
Dairy-free caramel can be a bit of a unicorn and hard to find, especially when we need to be extra safe because of milk allergy.
So when we discovered a caramel syrup to enjoy in our drinks, kiddo and I were super excited!
See the ingredients on our bottle of classic caramel syrup below.
As always, double-check the labels because ingredients can change. And call the company for manufacturing processes if you need to. Just because these work for our allergies, doesn’t mean they will work for yours. Be safe.
Now that my kiddo with milk allergy is a college student, he's enjoying coffee drinks just like his parents.
Hubby is so into coffee that he makes delicious pour-over hot coffees and moka pot iced coffees at home...
that are better than any coffee shop.
We also make our own cold brew coffee at home, it's so smooth!
All this to say, our son now also enjoys these fun drinks at home with us, too.
And I was ecstatic to discover we could make him dairy-free coffee with caramel syrup!
Now, he does order coffee out and about, sometimes he even orders dairy-free caramel lattes.
But it makes me very nervous at coffee shops because caramel SAUCE usually contains dairy while caramel SYRUP may not.
Kiddo has to ask to see labels and make sure he's getting caramel flavored coffees using dairy-free syrup, not thick, creamy, dairy caramel sauce.
So do note, just because this syrup is dairy-free for our homemade coffees at home, be so careful about ordering caramel flavored drinks out.
Always ask to see ingredients. And if you have a severe milk allergy, you'll want to check on cross contamination concerns in blenders, steamers, spoons, cups, etc. etc. at coffee shops.
All that to say, making your own safe dairy-free coffees at home can be much safer for severe allergies.
And we make fun dairy-free coffees with this caramel syrup!
Do make sure you note this is the Classic Caramel flavor.
Torani makes other caramel products that contain dairy and even tree nuts.
Here is the recipe for our dairy-free cold brew caramel latte using this syrup.
Plus, here are the ingredients on our bottle of syrup below.
Always double-check labels for yourself, of course, ingredients can change.

They do carry dairy and nut products so call the company about manufacturing practices if you need to.
Some food allergy mamas may also wonder about the caramel coloring so you can call the company about that, as well.
Hope you can enjoy this caramel syrup like we do!
