Of all the homemade dairy-free sorbets we’ve made, chocolate is our favorite!
And the recipe is so easy. See it below.
When kiddo was first diagnosed with milk allergy as a baby,
I quickly had to learn how to make an ice cream he could eat.
And before I got to ice cream, I tried sorbet.
Banana, strawberry, peach. I loved making these frozen fruity treats for my little guy.
So next up was chocolate!
It basically tastes like a fudgesicle in a bowl.
What’s not to love?
This is a wonderful dairy-free recipe because it calls for no milk or milk substitute.
here’s the easy milk-free sorbet recipe for you!
CHOCOLATE SORBET DAIRY-FREE
CHOCOLATE SORBET INGREDIENTS
1 cup cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
2 pinches of salt
2 cups boiling water
1/4 tsp vanilla
HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE SORBET
Combine cocoa, sugar, salt in saucepan.
Whisk in 1/2 cup boiling water to make a thick paste.
Add the remaining water.
Stir over medium heat just until tiny bubbles form at the edges of the pan.
Don’t cook any longer, as the heat can damage the flavor of the cocoa.
Take the mixture off the heat and add the vanilla.
Churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Hope you enjoy dairy-free sorbet as much as we do!
