Cream cheese mints are often popular for wedding favors.
However, our family loves to make them for Christmas!
And with my son's milk allergy, we need to make ours dairy-free.
That's super easy with all the dairy-free cream cheese options these days.
Plus, with all the sugar these take, the dairy-free taste is non-existent.
Everyone will love these!
They are my hubby's favorite holiday treat for sure.
Let the kids help make them. They are no-bake and perfect for the kids to dive in, too.

CREAM CHEESE MINTS RECIPE
Makes approximately 145 mints. You can easily halve the recipe.
If you do make the full batch, you can freeze some for later in an airtight container or freezer bag.
Here is our favorite dairy-free cream cheese.
Currently our favorite dairy-free butters are Melt or Earth Balance.
Always check labels for yourself, ingredients can change.
INGREDIENTS
8 ounce
¼ cup dairy-free butter
2 pounds of powdered sugar
2 teaspoon peppermint extract
natural food coloring
½ cup powdered sugar for rolling
DIRECTIONS
Combine 8 oz. cream cheese and ¼ c. dairy-free butter in a large bowl with an electric mixer.
Add a cup of powdered sugar and mix until smooth again.
Add 2 tsp. peppermint extract until combined.
Slowly add the rest of the powdered sugar until completely combined.
Mix in food coloring, optional.
Cover and refrigerate for a couple hours.
Line two sheet pans with wax paper, covered in more powdered sugar.
Separate into pieces of 1 teaspoon each, cover in more powdered sugar, and roll each piece into a ball in the palm of your hand.
Place each ball on the wax paper about 1 inch apart.
Gently press lines into the balls with a fork, dipping the fork in powdered sugar each time to prevent sticking.
Smashed mints should be the size of a quarter.
Let the mints sit, uncovered, for at least 4 hours until the mints are firm.
Flip the mints over and let the bottoms dry another hour.
Store in an airtight container, keeping layers separate with wax paper.
Hope you enjoy these vegan, dairy-free cream cheese mints as much as we do!
