Investing in a high powered blender for our food allergy family has been one of the best things we’ve done.
That’s because I find myself making smoothies literally every day. Multiple times a day.
I guess I won’t complain that my kids love this healthy snack.
And thankfully, clean-up with our blender is easy, too, with it’s self-cleaning function.
BEST BLENDER FOR MAKING SMOOTHIES
You can see our powerful blender in our list of favorite kitchen tools.
That’s not to say you can’t make smoothies in a regular blender, because I did for years.
I’m just saying a nice one is worth the investment and makes my life a lot easier.
We’ve been using ours for nearly a decade!
So onto one of our favorite smoothies of all time…
our creamy mango smoothie!
WHAT’S IN A MANGO SMOOTHIE
Our favorite version of a mango smoothie contains:
- frozen mango
- frozen banana
- orange juice
- vanilla protein powder or vanilla extract
But don’t just throw all these ingredients haphazardly into your blender.
We have the perfect measurements that will yield a perfectly thick and creamy smoothie the first try, every time.
DOES A MANGO SMOOTHIE HAVE TO HAVE DAIRY
Heck no, you can make a delicious mango smoothie without milk and without yogurt.
This is great news for our dairy-free friends who manage milk allergy.
Frozen mangos actually blend up very creamy.
And we add an extra punch of creaminess with frozen banana in this recipe.
Even with no dairy, this will be one of the creamiest, thickest smoothies you’ll try.
WHAT IS THE BEST LIQUID TO PUT IN A SMOOTHIE
With growing boys, I typically try to make smoothies with dairy-free oat milk to boost the protein and fill them up.
However, there are times that call for smoothies that use juice instead, like when we are battling sickness at our house.
In those cases, clear liquids are recommended by our doctor to minimize excess mucus and congestion.
So that’s why we created our mango smoothie to be made with orange juice for added immune-boosting vitamins.
Mango lends itself so well to being made into a juice smoothie.
With the banana and orange, this mango smoothie is a tropical delight.
WHERE TO BUY MANGO SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS
Besides the protein powder, I actually find all these ingredients affordably at Aldi!
Frozen mango, bananas, and real orange juice with added calcium.
Aldi even has organic orange juice right now.
Here are our other favorite staples at Aldi.
