Apple Bread No Milk Or Egg (VIDEO)

Nothing says welcome fall like good old fashioned apple bread.

And of course, we have a dairy-free AND egg-free version you’re sure to love.

I’ve been making this recipe for fifteen years, always a good option when you have a couple apples the family has decided to pass up.

Nobody passes up apple bread!

See our quick video and easy recipe below.

Years ago, when we moved into our house, we were blessed with a beautiful apple tree right in the backyard.

My kids were preschoolers, home with me everyday.

And when the apple tree was producing, we had more apples than we knew what to do with.

That’s when I baked up apple recipes galore…dairy, egg, and nut free.

But oh so good!

Here are some of our favorite apple recipes with no dairy milk. They are eggless, too.

In addition to this vegan apple bread, here are three more vegan quick breads we make regularly at our house.

Sadly, our beloved apple tree eventually died.

But we still love picking up apples on great sales in the fall.

And apple bread is still always a must, even without the tree out back.

BEST BREAD PAN

I’ve found I love making quick breads more than ever when I have THEE perfect baking pan.

  • Made in the USA
  • Never needs greased
  • Bread pops right out
  • Clean-up is literally a dream

Here are the best baking pans ever!

WHAT KIND OF APPLES FOR BREAD

Honestly, any apples will do for this recipe.

You just need one or two. One cup shredded.

And they can be anything from smooshy apples on their last leg to crisp fresh apples right off the tree.

Because this apple bread recipe is best made with shredded apples…the consistency doesn’t really matter.

As long as you can peel and shred the apples, you’ll end up with juicy apple shreds either way.

Personally, for this recipe, I like to use up my less crunchy apples.

We save nice crispy apples for apple pie and apple crisp…or for dipping in dairy-free caramel.

Any variety of apple seems to work in this recipe, too. It’s versatile!

QUICK TIP

This recipe can be used for apple cinnamon muffins, as well. Just put the batter into a muffin pan instead of a bread pan. And baking takes half the time. Check the muffins at 20 minutes. If they don’t bounce back to the touch, keep checking in one minute increments until they are done.

INGREDIENTS

Dry Mixture

1.5 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Wet Mixture

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup peeled, shredded apple
1/4 cup vegetable oil or liquid coconut oil
1 egg or 3 tablespoons of applesauce

pan of baked apple bread

DIRECTIONS

Grease bread pan or use this non-stick bread pan

Mix first set of dry mixture ingredients in a large bowl.

1.5 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

In a separate small bowl, mix second set of wet mixture ingredients.

1/2 cup sugar
1 cup peeled, shredded apple
1/4 cup vegetable oil or liquid coconut oil
1 egg or 3 tablespoons of applesauce

Add the wet mixture into the large bowl of dry mixture.

Stir wet and dry mixtures together just until combined.

Spoon batter into a greased or non-stick bread pan.

Bake approximately 40 minutes or until wooden toothpick comes out clean from the center. Also make sure the center is firm to the touch.

Cool on a wire rack.

Store in airtight container.

The flavors meld together best on the second day…if you can wait that long.

Hope you enjoy this milk-free and egg-free apple bread as much as we do!
