Chocolate Nutter Butters Dairy-Free

nutter butters with chocolate on top

There's something about Christmas time that makes us want to coat everything in chocolate.

Am I right?

And if you're wondering how I could possibly make this happen with milk allergies,

the secret is that I buy dairy-free chocolate chips in bulk (affiliate).

While we've coated many fun treats in dairy-free chocolate over the years,

it just recently came to my attention that Nutter Butters are dairy-free.

PLEASE NOTE: Here at Milk Allergy Mom, we simply share products that work for our family. Please consult your own doctor before trying food, supplements, or other products. Also read all labels and call companies for the latest, most accurate product information.

So of course, they get doused in chocolate for Christmas now, too.

My apologies in advance to all our peanut allergy friends.

I understand the frustration, we had peanut allergies for about four years.

But let me offer some encouragement in that both my boys who tested highly allergic to peanut now eat it every day.

There is hope!

If you can have peanut and want to make these,

melt ½ cup chocolate and 1 teaspoon coconut oil over medium heat on the stove or in the microwave.

Make sure no water gets into the mixture and stir often just until melted smooth.

Don't over melt. Remove from heat.

Then drizzle, coat, or top the cookies with the melted chocolate and let it harden in the refrigerator.

If you can't do coconut oil, use another baking oil or leave it out altogether.

Hope you can enjoy these chocolate covered Nutter Butters.
