9 Frozen Food Staples Dairy-Free

Need to stock up on dairy-free food for a storm or a lockdown or something else?

We’ve found ourselves in that position before and here are the frozen foods we grabbed.

Hope this help you stock your freezer, too.

PLEASE NOTE: Here at Milk Allergy Mom, we simply share products that work for our family. Please consult your own doctor before trying food, supplements, or other products. Also read all labels and call companies for the latest, most accurate product information.

When I first wrote this post, a lockdown was coming.

Now as I’m updating this post, a winter storm is coming.

In both cases, stocking the freezer with plenty of food for the family is necessary.

And when you have food allergies, it can be harder to know what to buy.

Of course, always check labels.

But here’s what I grab for our freezer in our milk allergy home.

All kid-approved.

DAIRY-FREE FROZEN FOOD

You may know we are huge fans of cooking whole chickens.

And these freeze well.

So I bought two.

Usually I buy smaller chickens, but this time I went for the mainstream brand.

For our family of four, we get two meals out of a roasted chicken….

plus 8-10 cups of chicken broth (so good for homemade soup).

Here’s our roasted chicken recipe.

Here’s how we make homemade broth.

In the same vein, I grabbed a turkey breast.

The brand we like for Thanksgiving.

If it was a whole turkey with bones, we would make turkey broth just like we make chicken broth.

But this is boneless…so no turkey broth this time.

Chicken broth is better, anyways.

This will sit in the freezer for later.

It will go well with the big bag of potatoes I bought…baked or mashed with turkey!

Frozen beef burger is another easy idea.

You can buy it already frozen so it will last awhile until you need it.

Or you can buy it fresh and freeze it yourself.

We are doing a little of both.

We gotta have lots of beef on hand for:

sloppy joes

chili mac

taco soup

If we need something a little faster, or a lot faster…

we hit up these dairy-free frozen chicken nuggets.

I know you’ll want the ingredients so here they are!

Need some breakfast protein?

If eggs don’t work with your allergies,

we love this brand of frozen sausage links.

It’s the only sausage we used for years.

You can get it in small boxes,

but this big bag from Walmart is the way to go!

We use these for breakfast sandwiches.

Here are the sausage ingredients for you.

Double check labels, as always.

Now for some of my favorites, the fruits and vegetables.

And you can get them frozen…even in bulk, too!

I normally like to get frozen berries organic at Aldi and Walmart.

But with my emergency shopping, I grabbed the best bulk I could find.

Berries are great for smoothies, pancakes, and a simple healthy snack, of course.

They just keep better than apples, oranges, and bananas.

Oh, I do freeze bananas for smoothies or make banana bread if they start going brown.

Frozen strawberries!

Frozen blueberries.

Great for this blueberry muffins recipe.

For frozen vegetables, be sure to check labels, as well.

Some seriously say they are processed with milk.

How in the world that happens, is beyond me.

Here are some store brand veggies I grabbed.

They are big bags that we can close up, kept frozen, and use for days.

Great for delicious vegetable soup recipe

While my kids love frozen peas, corn, carrots, etc…

frozen fries are more my style.

Especially sweet potato.

And I love this dairy-free brand.

More of a white potato person?

Got ya covered.

We’ve been using these frozen fries forever.

Check labels, of course.

But there are several varieties that work for our allergies.

This was a huge bag that should last awhile.

Lastly, we decided to freeze some bread.

Because as you know, milk allergy families can’t just eat any old brand.

When we find a dairy-free and allergy-friendly bread, it’s a slight miracle.

I grabbed three loaves and froze two of this store brand.

Albeit, thawed bread isn’t as good as fresh.

But it will work in a pinch, if milk-free bread is hard to find later.

Kiddos count on bread for:

dairy-free grilled cheese

eggless french toast

meat sandwiches

And I think that’s all for now, in this edition of my dairy-free frozen stock-up food.

Hope you all are staying safe and have dairy-free, allergy-friendly food on hand, as well.

I am so glad we are working on stocking our food and emergency supplies together.
