I know as a mom managing milk allergies myself…

one of my earliest questions was how to enjoy pizza without dairy!

There were no frozen pizza options seventeen years ago.

And my husband actually considers pizza a food group.

So we needed options as our kids grew older.

Thankfully, over the years, we’ve accumulated many favorite ways to make our own dairy-free pizza.

Not to mention, there are now dairy-free frozen pizza options, too.

I’ll share those a little later in this post.

But as for making pizza at home, we’ve found that pizza at home is the tastiest and cheapest way to this tasty food.

The super easy pizza sauce in our homemade pizza recipe is a hit on Pinterest. So good!

The calzones are essentially our homemade pizza recipe, just turning the dough into pockets. It’s a great little twist!

The pita pizzas are the quickest option that tastes homemade.

Our tortilla pizza is such a quick thin crust option, and we even make it with chicken and dairy-free ranch sometimes.

The crescent roll pizzas, wonton pizza cups, and cold veggie pizza make for excellent dairy-free appetizers to share with friends.

And the pizza lunchable plus the freezer bagel pizzas are perfect for kid lunches.

I know your next question may be which dairy-free mozzarella is our favorite.

So here are some of our favorite brands of dairy-free cheese shreds for all our homemade pizza ideas.

Just remember, use dairy-free cheese sparingly. I use about 1/3 of what I’d use in real cheese.

Or heck, even leave the cheese off some of these pizza ideas. Many people do!

Here are some of our favorite toppings for the dairy-free pizza we make at our house.

  • pepperoni
  • ground pork sausage
  • onion
  • bell pepper
  • mushroom

Of course, always check labels on ingredients to make sure they are safe for your allergies.

One great thing about vegetables cooked on pizzas is that some people can tolerate them cooked even if they can’t eat them raw because of oral allergy syndrome

That’s how my son is with peppers.

Always talk to your allergist first on that, though.
