One of the most popular questions we get at Milk Allergy Mom…
what dairy-free yogurt do we like.
Truth be told, I don’t like yogurt.
Especially dairy-free!
But both my kids have loved it for years…
the one WITH milk allergy and the one without.
Even my son without allergies likes dairy-free yogurt.
BUT!
There’s just one brand they will go for.
And that’s Silk Soy Yogurt.
I think that’s because it was one of the first ones we tried when they were toddlers.
And they compare every other brand to this one.
If it doesn’t taste like Silk soy,
they don’t like it.
And we have tried all. the. brands!
Every time I see a new one come out, I buy it.
And I end up having to do something else with it.
Knowing I’m not the only food allergy parent constantly playing the “Do You Like It?” yogurt game…
here are 3 things to do with unloved dairy-free yogurt at your house.
TRY THESE IDEAS FOR UNLOVED YOGURT
throw it into fruit smoothies and hide the taste!
freeze it in popsicle molds and tell the kids its a new creamy popsicle!
make our awesome dairy and egg free donut recipe!
Inevitably, I’m sure you will have some no-go’s with dairy-free yogurt.
So thank me for those tricks later, lol.
I guess our kids know what they like.
And these tips will prevent $2 from regularly going down the tubes, am I right?
I really thought my boys may go for new coconut yogurts,
but nope.
However, by them preferring soy yogurt…
I like that we are mixing up the dairy-free milk products for them.
Almond milk to drink.
Pea protein milk to drink.
Coconut ice creams.
And soy cheese and yogurt.
Works for me, and keeps us from overdoing it in one dairy-free category.
I also really like that I can get my son’s favorite yogurt at Walmart, pick-up of course!
See our other favorite cold Walmart groceries here.
My preference is to buy the large tub of original or vanilla flavor Silk soy yogurt.
But my kiddo really loves the small containers with fruit…
especially peach mango.
Here are the ingredients on my son’s favorite Silk yogurt flavor.
Always check ingredients for yourself, as they can change.
