It’s hard to find dairy-free hushpuppies in restaurants.
But it’s easy to make them without milk at home.
And they are soooo good, plus loved by kids. See recipe below!
This dairy-free hush puppies post is brought to you by my fry-happy hubby, Jeff.
Just last year, he decided we had gone “dairy-free without a fryer” long enough.
Eleven years to be exact.
So he bought himself a fryer on Amazon (affiliate), and he’s been in grease heaven ever since.
It’s not that we never fried anything before that.
But he made do with a cast iron dutch oven (affiliate) outside on the grill burner.
We both agree that deep frying in the house isn’t worth the terrible smell and splattered grease.
But I’m happy he made this little investment for ease and even more tasty foods for our food allergy kiddo to enjoy.
Here’s our latest experiment.
Hush puppies during fried fish night!
And they were a huge hit.
Jeff used this already dairy-free recipe from All Recipes, but it does contain egg.
A quick google search tells me you can find vegan, milk and egg free hush puppy recipes a plenty.
Din-din was also served with a fresh side of dairy-free, egg-free coleslaw.
Something not fried. Mom win!
Hope you can enjoy dairy-free hush puppies soon!
