Dairy-Free Coffee at Disney

People often ask about dairy-free snacks at Disney World, but this time I was curious about discovering their dairy-free specialty coffee options!

For our anniversary, hubby and I hit Disney World without the kiddos for the first time.

And my mission was dairy-free coffee.

With park hoppers, we visited all 4 parks and also several resorts as part of the mission.

Let's get to the caffeinated drinks we found!

IMPORTANT NOTE

If you have a dairy allergy, you must be diligent about ordering and consuming hand-made crafted drinks out and about.

Asking to see ingredients and about preventative measures for cross contamination is important. But more precautions may need to be taken.

Be sure to talk to your allergist about what protocols you need to take to stay safe when ordering and consuming specialty coffees.

I don't have an actual milk allergy, my son does.

Drinking dairy-free coffees is just a preference for me.

DISNEY SWAN RESORT

Very rarely do we stay on Disney property, but this time splurged with the Swan Resort.

It's not officially Disney property, but the Swan (and the Dolphin) Resort come with deluxe Disney resort perks!

We could enter the parks early, had early access to Lightning Lane purchases, and enjoyed free park transportation.

By walking through the Boardwalk area or hopping on a boat, we could easily enter Epcot, which we did numerous time.

Access to Hollywood Studios was also easy via boat.

But we actually skipped all around with our park hoppers.

We also enjoyed visiting several resorts via the sky liner, the monorail, and boats.

All free inter-park transportation!

I told hubby my mission for the week was COFFEE.

So we got to it right away.

The coffee shop cafe at the Swan Resort is called Java Cafe.

Probably because this isn't an actual Disney property, Swan and Dolphin used coffee beans from a brand called Kimbo.

Disney's official coffee brand is Joffrey's. So it was a nice change.

Kimbo was quality coffee that passed hubby's coffee bean critique.

And I was able to enjoy actual dairy-free lattes from this quaint little cafe.

They had a variety of dairy-free milk options, including my favorite...coconut milk.

Hubby ordered a nitro cold brew, also dairy-free and unsweetened.

With a variety of syrup flavors to choose from, I could have ordered all kinds of latte flavors.

However, I opted for a simple coconut milk latte, unsweetened.

The cafe was open pretty long hours, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner bites.

MAGIC KINGDOM

Over at Magic Kingdom, we scoped out a few Joffrey's coffee spots.

It appeared most only served oat or almond milk as dairy-free alternatives.

There may have been soy, too.

Unfortunately for me, I'm always hoping for coconut milk.

Another downside for me is that most of Joffrey's locations have long lines.

Not so great for us because we are always in a rush to maximize rides at the parks.

My coffee missions need to be quick and easy.

Thankfully, we knew from our last trip that Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies is usually less busy.

And there's seating inside with air conditioning!

They serve both flavors of Joffrey's cold brew.

I took it black because I'm not sure they had any dairy-free milks on hand.

However, there was no line so that was a win.

On our last trip, kiddo and I parked it in the air conditioning there to rest a bit.

The cold brew was decent, for sure. Nice and bold.

Perfectly refreshing in the scorching heat of June.

Shakin' Jamaican is brewed with vanilla, caramel, and smoky flavors. It comes unsweetened.

It sounds like you can also order this flavor at Sunshine Terrace and have dairy-free milk and syrups added.

I'll have to try that next time!

EPCOT

Over at Epcot Theme Park, I really wanted to find some good dairy-free coffee beyond Joffrey's cold brew and regular ole Starbucks.

But it was a strike-out in the dairy-free department.

Now, I did try a couple specialty coffees that were NOT dairy-free...because I'm not actually allergic like my son is.

And those were both really tasty!

One was a gelato (dairy!) and espresso treat in the Italy area.

The other was a frozen chocolate (dairy!) coffee in Norway.

Hubby is actually the one who enjoyed dairy-free coffee in Epcot.

Just him and his plain old black, hot coffee in the spacious Connections Cafe, where you can get all your tried-and-true dairy-free Starbucks drinks.

While each of Disney World's parks have one Starbucks, this one is our favorite because it's so spacious and next to the huge Disney Creations Shop with loads of merch.

On this trip without kids, hubby and I hopped around not only to parks but also to Disney resorts.

At moderate and deluxe resorts, we discovered several options for dairy-free lattes at almost every place we checked.

Some are even known for a specialty dairy-free offering, noted below.

DAIRY-FREE COFFEE AT DISNEY RESORTS

Animal Kingdom Lodge (iced oat chai) - The Mara
Boardwalk Resort - Carousel Coffee
Riviera Resort (almond honey foam) - La Petit Cafe
Polynesian Resort (press pot for 2) - Kona Coffee
Contemporary Resort - Contemporary Grounds
and probably more we haven't check yet

The resorts tend to carry more dairy-free milk options, including coconut.

The resorts also seem to have more syrup options than most of the park kiosks.

Here is the Riviera cinnamon cold brew with almond honey cold foam!

Be sure to double-check that it's all dairy-free. And the dessert tart was NOT dairy-free.

STARBUCKS

Keep in mind, there is a Starbucks in each of the four parks.

Of course, the Starbucks park locations are often busy with long lines.

And I don't like to spend precious park time in line for coffee I can get anywhere.

But if you really need your dairy-free coffee fix with lots of options, this is a good option.

COFFEE MISSION RESULTS

My final thoughts on dairy-free specialty coffees at Disney World aren't as raving as I hoped they would be.

The mission wasn't a homerun, that's for sure.

Just like dairy-free snacks at Disney World, they exist.

But they aren't prevalent or easy to find.

I think the moderate and deluxe resorts have the best dairy-free coffee options over the parks, if you're skipping Starbucks.

And thankfully we can stop into the resorts without being resort guests.

However, I personally wouldn't make any special trips for resort specialty coffees now that I've tried many of them.

After having a couple specialty iced teas at Disney World because I was striking out with dairy-free coffee...

I think a tea mission is in order next!

DISNEY COFFEE MUGS

Despite being underwhelmed by dairy-free specialty coffees at Disney World...

the coffee mugs and tumblers all around Disney World are in abundance and so hard to resist!

I love all the Starbucks Disney stainless steel tumblers.

And hubby is a sucker for all the coffee mugs at Disney.

Honestly, buying your favorite mugs and tumblers at Disney is probably better bang for your buck.

Skip the frustrating hunt for special dairy-free coffee at Disney.

Instead, enjoy the shopping for the perfect mug or tumbler to take home as a souvenir!

I wish I would have brought this cute cup home with me, found in the Grand Floridian gift shop.

FINAL VERDICT

JOFFREY'S

For specialty, dairy-free iced coffee, if you're good with Joffrey's cold brew black or mixed with almond or oat milk, then you're good to go.

You can find that in all the parks but may just have to wait in busy lines.

STARBUCKS

If you'd rather have your go-to dairy-free Starbucks drinks away from home, you're set there, too.

There's a Starbucks in every Disney park.

Again, just be prepared for lines.

RESORTS

If you're looking for unique dairy-free coffee experiences, you may have to head out to the upper tier resorts to find your non-dairy lattes.

Peaceful atmosphere to relax and unwind.

Riviera Resort has been my favorite so far.
