You’ll never buy lemonade again when you discover how easy it is to make yourself.
Just 3 simple ingredients, so refreshing, and done in minutes.
We’ve even figured out an easy way to make lemonade in a 4-cup mason jar.
See our delicious lemonade recipe and quick video below!
Easy homemade lemonade has been posted here at Milk Allergy Mom since my kiddo’s third birthday.
Now he’s a teenager!
And I’ve been wanting to come back and tweak this recipe for so long.
Lucky us, today is the day.
See, I made this huge pitcher of lemonade for my son’s birthday back in the day.
He asked for a yellow, sunshine birthday. Perfect for summer and just too cute for a little three-year-old.
I sure don’t mind making a huge pitcher of lemonade for a party,
but truly a smaller recipe is more practical for our family on a regular basis.
And what simpler way to make homemade lemonade than right in a mason jar.
I finally nailed down measurements for my family’s favorite lemonade, right in a four-cup jar.
Serves four with plenty of leeway for ice and watering it down if you want to.
Just the right amount to serve at lunch or dinner or to have in the refrigerator for a quick refreshing drink.
Plus, it only takes two lemons!
Lemonade and flavored lemonade is all the rage.
We see it at Starbucks, Panera, Mod Pizza, Chipotle, and more.
Why not make it at home!
Below…here’s how to make delicious, fresh lemonade in a mason jar with little mess.
BEST PLACE TO BUY LEMONS
I love buying a whole bag of lemons at Aldi.
When we get them home, I give them all a good wash.
Then they make a nice little center piece on the kitchen table in a white bowl.
Easily, I can snag two at a time to make this yummy lemonade.
Here are some of our favorite staples at Aldi!
FAVORITE WAY TO JUICE LEMONS
Even though I do own a ceramic citrus press,
I often find myself grabbing my juicer glass (affiliate) to juice lemons.
This is also what I use to juice limes.
Then I freeze lime juice for making smoothies and easy guacamole whenever I want.
Here are my quick, easy steps for juicing lemons for this lemonade:
- wash 2 lemons
- cut lemons in half
- juice both lemons (makes about 1/2 cup)
- remove seeds
- use the lemon juice to make lemonade
Now let’s make lemonade!
EASY HOMEMADE LEMONADE
This recipe is for quickly making 4 cups in a mason jar.
However, you can double or triple the recipe for bigger pitchers.
ITEMS NEEDED
4 cup glass jar with lid
citrus juicing glass or press
INGREDIENTS
Use the lesser sugar measurement if you like more tart lemonade OR if you want to add flavored syrup to your lemonade. Fruity syrups like strawberry can taste so delicious.
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup hot water (to dissolve sugar)
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- 2 cups cold water (to dilute lemonade)
DIRECTIONS
Boil 1/2 cup hot water.
Pour 1/2 cup sugar into glass jar.
Pour the hot water over the sugar to dissolve it.
Add 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice.
Finish off with 2 cups of cold water.
Place lid on jar tightly and shake to incorporate all the ingredients.
Store in refrigerator.
Serve with ice and/or watered down to taste.
Hope you love this easy, fresh lemonade as much as we do!
