Simple Organized Erin Condren Planner Set-Up Through the Years
When it comes to planners, my friend Mandy and I are a bit manic.
In 2017, we did a two-hour planner set-up video on Facebook. Now that was a party!
In 2018, we did a monthly sticker club along with monthly plan-with-me videos.
In 2019, we posted some inspiring blog posts (that went kinda viral, woohoo).
And in 2020, to help you set up your Erin Condren Planner for an amazing year...
we are doing a series of quick videos (under 5 minutes) that you're going to love!
Maybe a 2-hour Facebook live was a bit much, lol.

ERIN CONDREN PLANNER POCKETS
Can you tell from the picture?
Our Erin Condren Planner Set-Up Hack Idea #1 is about pockets.
I'm a self-proclaimed pocket-holic.
Without fail for 5 years and running, I always need a place to slip papers, receipts, sticker sheets, etc. into.
Pockets are my fave!
And for several years, I simply added in two-sided pockets we could buy extra from Erin Condren.
Because let's face it, one double-sided pocket that comes with the planner just isn't enough.
But this year, I was thrown for a loop.
When I went to purchase my favorite Erin Condren Planner accessories to add to my 2020 planner...
alas, my precious double-sided, heavy-duty pocket add-in's were gone. Boo hoo.
So I search "pockets" on the Erin Condren site and found a few other options.
Thank goodness!
Let me tell you, settling on the double pack of 3M plastic pockets (affiliate) was a great choice.
You can see in this picture that it's big, clear, and fits a page just right.

HOW TO USE ERIN CONDREN POCKETS
There are several reasons already mentioned for why I need pockets.
One, I keep my receipts in a pocket until they are recorded in my budget section (budget recording tips coming soon!)
Two, I keep yearly bills in a planner pocket for the whole year: car insurance, home insurance, life insurance, property tax, etc.
Three, I keep my handful of sticker and label sheets handy in the planner pockets. I don't have many! #functionalplannergirl
Four, I keep special programs for my kids in my planner. Like choir and band concerts, etc.

WHERE TO PUT ERIN CONDREN 3M POCKETS
As you will see in the video on this post,
I chose to put my two 3M Erin Condren Pockets on the inside covers for few reasons.
One, the laminated covers are nice and sturdy...and I no longer like to use them with markers.
See the video for another non-marker use for the inside of the covers...
if you don't want extra pockets. 🙂
Two, my pockets went on the inside of the covers because they are easy to find!
No more getting lost inside the planner pages.
Three, I love the 3M pockets (affiliate) on the inside covers because they really look nice there!
That seems like a lame reason, but I'm going with it.
Because two reasons just doesn't seem like enough, bwahahaha!
