When I say casserole, allergy mama, what comes to mind?

Cream of mushroom soup?

Sour cream?

Shredded cheese?

Cream cheese?

Don’t kick me in the teeth, I’m a milk allergy mom, too.

And I feel your pain.

I know most of your traditional casserole recipes are out the window with dairy allergies.

I missed my old school casseroles, too.

But not anymore.

Because I have one casserole recipe in our dinner rotation now.

It replaces all those cheesy dishes, and it’s the only one we need.

Serious. You won’t miss cheesy, creamy casseroles anymore.

Instead, you’ll love how this dairy-free casserole is so light and basic.

No dairy coma afterwards, how nice is that?

This casserole recipe is simple to make.

And it will please and fill up your whole family.

Even if we could eat dairy again, this would still be my favorite casserole dish.

If you’re missing one-dish casseroles in your food allergy family, give this recipe a try!

pan of burger tot casserole

1 pound burger
2 cans green beans drained
1 15.5 oz can tomatoes undrained
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 package dairy-free tater tots or tater tot crowns

Preheat oven to 375

Fry hamburger on the stove.

Drain grease.

Move meat to a 9×11″ casserole dish.

Add the other ingredients to the meat, except the tater tots.

Layer tater tots on top of the mixture, covering it fully with tots.

Place casserole in the oven, uncovered, on 375.

Bake for 30-45 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown.

Serve dairy-free green bean hamburger casserole hot with a side of fruit and enjoy!

this sounds good, and I'm going to try but have you ever used shredded hash browns? - for some reason my grandson does not like tater tots but likes the shredded has browns. he's also allergic to beef so I'm going to use ground turkey.

Hi Theresa! I'm not real sure, but if you try, let us know!

This was good, but dry. It needs some kind of sauce--maybe tomato sauce.

That sounds like a good option! My kids like it as is, probably because they generally don't like food mixed together. lol. But they like this.
