Homemade Ranch Seasoning Dairy-Free

Our journey through dairy-free ranch options over the past 15 years has been extensive.

From going without for a decade to great brands that disappear from the face of the earth.

I decided it was time to nail down our own homemade ranch seasoning for dairy-free ranch dip and dressing so we never have to go without again!

Ranch Seasoning Dairy Free

That’s right, you guys.

Making your own spice blend ranch seasoning is really so easy.

And it works great for both ranch dip and ranch dressing.

Plus, it’s a staple in several of our favorite dairy-free recipes!

Simply mix together a handful of basic spices you probably already have on hand.

Store this blend in an airtight container.

And you can use it to whip up ranch dip or dressing any time you need it.

We use this ranch spice blend for potato skins

We use this spice blend for chip dip

And we use it for crescent veggie pizza, my fave!

So let’s go over the spices you’ll need…

and then I’ll share our recipes for using it in homemade ranch dressing and homemade ranch dip.

Dairy-free, of course!

Ranch Seasoning Spices

HOMEMADE RANCH SEASONING

2 tablespoons onion powder
3 teaspoons parsley flakes
1 teaspoon salt
1 and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dill

Simply combine the spices together to make homemade ranch seasoning.

Consider doubling or tripling the recipe so you can keep a stash on hand.

Store seasoning mix in an airtight container, where you keep your other spices.

I love how versatile ranch dressing and dip recipes are.

Once you have the spice blend made, you can make ranch dip or ranch dressing…or both!

Here’s how we make ranch dressing for salads and veggies, it’s thinner than our ranch dip recipe.

HOMEMADE RANCH DRESSING RECIPE

2 Tb. mayonnaise or vegan mayo
1.5 Tb. of dairy-free milk
1/2 Tb. apple cider vinegar
2 tsp. ranch seasoning

Mix all the ingredients together.

Serve over salad or as a veggie dip!

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

For a thicker ranch dip, here’s our recipe.

HOMEMADE RANCH DIP RECIPE

2 tablespoons dairy-free sour cream or dairy-free cream cheese
2 tablespoons mayo, vegan mayo, or dairy-free plain yogurt
2 teaspoons ranch seasoning

Serve as a dip for potato chips or fresh vegetables.

Great for veggie trays!

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

“OMG, Jamie. I made your ranch seasoning the other day and it rocks!!! I made some chicken quesadillas and seasoned the chicken with the ranch seasoning and then added some of the seasoning to some Forager sour cream and it was soooo good.”  MAM Member Mama

We love hearing this!

Hope you enjoy this ranch seasoning as much as we do.

would this be the equivalent of a packet of dry ranch dressing mix from the store?

Yes, Karen. Although, feel free to use it to taste. Some like it less strong. :)
