Fifteen years ago, we didn’t have dairy-free cheese shreds available.
Instead, we had to simply tear apart the only milk-free cheese option out there: American slices.
So we don’t take for granted that we now have several shredded cheese choices for our milk allergy family.
And one of the newer ones is by So Delicious.
We already love So Delicious for their ice cream, yogurt and whipped cream.
So when their shredded cheese started popping up at Target and my health food store,
I couldn’t wait to try!
As with all dairy-free shredded cheese, these are best used in moderation.
Below, I’ll share some of our favorite recipes that call for dairy-free shredded cheese,
and just use about 1/4 to 1/2 of what you would with regular cheese.
If you try to freeze this brand of dairy-free cheese, you may end up with a crumbly texture.
I try to menu plan in a way that we use an entire bag fresh over a week’s time.
Be sure to mark your package with the date you opened it, sharpie marker works great.
That way you don’t have to guess how long it’s been open….
because I promise, one bag will last you a few meals.
Unless you have a ginormous family, of course.
Remember, use in moderation. But it does taste good!
And it opens many doors to dairy-free dishes you may not have thought possible.
See recipes and ingredients below.

PROCESSING INFO
The packaging does say these are manufactured in a facility with other tree nuts.
We usually avoid those products.
But this was something we decided was worth trying because we have used So Delicious products so much in the past.
My son is anaphylactic allergic to cashew but can have almonds.
He avoids all other tree nuts.
We haven’t called the company for other details so be sure to do that if your allergist says you need to.
The packages say they do rigorous allergy testing, see below.
