6 Functional Erin Condren Life Planner Hacks

As I was setting up my 2019 Erin Condren Life Planner, I came up with a few new functional planner hacks that I just had to share with all my planner friends.

Hope you love them!

HACK 1 – GOALS PAGES

These aren’t necessarily goals pages, but a lot of us call them that.

You can really do anything with these.

And I toyed with two ideas this year.

One, I used the monthly sticker book to put month stickers on each box.

Then I tried label stickers that I had purchased extra…

to set up categories for my online business that I want to focus on in 2019.

I’m sticking with this second idea.

Glad those monthly stickers peeled off ok!

HACK 2 – BACK NOTE PAGES

Now heading to the back of the planner, there are a several blank pages.

And I am so excited about this new strategy!!!

Instead of writing directly on the pages and hoping I don’t regret it…

I used the long sticky note sheets from Erin Condren to set up columns of lists.

Three on each page fit perfectly!

I actually did this on ALL three of my note page spreads.

Lists galore!

HACK 3 – CONTACTS PAGE

I, for one, am super happy about the new contacts page in my planner!!!

But guess what.

I also found a use for the other page in the layout!

Business cards!

Anyone else tend to collect a handful of business cards over the year…

and have them lying all over the place?

Never to be found when you really need them?

Since I just don’t use those coloring pages, I’m tickled to figure out a good use for this one!

Just tape business cards onto it.

HACK 4 – PERPETUAL CALENDAR

Ok friend, if you’ve had more than one Erin Condren Planner now…

I know what you’re thinking.

What do I do with multiple perpetual calendars?! HA!

Well, I have about 4 and have tried a variety of uses for them.

Perpetual calendar uses may include:

  • prayer journal
  • thankful journal
  • health journal
  • budgets
  • gift ideas

Both of my alternative use perpetual calendars are now tucked happily into my planner and ready to roll!

I’m using pockets to hold both perpetual calendars I’m using in 2019.

I love the motivational sayings that hold each one.

HACK 5 – LAMINATED INSIDE COVERS

Ok, I’ve been a HUGE fan of the idea of laminated, designed, room-to-write inside covers.

But I’ve tried every kind of marker on them without much success:

wet erase, dry erase, and permanent.

To some degree, every one of them smeared into my pretty planner pages on the other side.

This year, I just don’t think I can handle it.

SO, I have another fantastic planner hack up my sleeve.

You guys, if you haven’t noticed yet, this is the year of sticky notes (affiliate) for me.

This is totally where it’s at for making continual changes so easily!!!

Isn’t that the best?!

If you don’t have EC sticky notes on hand,

I highly recommend them for their unique size and matching design.

Post-it sticky notes (affiliate) would work just as well.

HACK 6 – TRAVEL HACK

Since I put ALL my labels from the back of my planner already into my monthly spreads,

I’m excited to finally get to using ALL THE STICKER BOOKS I’ve collected.

They actually fit perfectly on the top of the planner,

even stacked 4 high,

with one of my favorite accessories: the elastic bands!

Also notice, I’m still sticking to my favorite Zebra pen (affiliate) that not only writes well…

but clips inside the coil perfectly without scraping the metal.

All set to hit the coffee shop for planning! Voila!!!

Hi! I first had EC planners back when she had note pages inside each month. Then the pages were fewer and in the back, which didn't work as well for me. At that point, I switched to Lilly Pulitzer but I'd really rather have EC with monthly notes!! I'm going discbound now to "hack" my own planner for my own needs... BUT, if you had ideas for inserting note pages into each month, I'm ALL ears! (eyes)

Oh, and I had to laugh at your business card because I follow Joel Warady on twitter (celiac and nut allergy mom, here!!)

Thanks for your tips!

Hey Allyson! I'd possibly just paper clip something into each month, because I'm lazy, lol. Nut allergy mama here, too! Welcome!
