There are very few occasions where I would choose a dessert that doesn't entail chocolate,

but strawberry shortcake is definitely an exception.

Sweet strawberries and whipped cream are hard to pass up.

Throw in a scrumptious sweet biscuit, and it's irresistible!

No doubt, strawberry shortcake has been a favorite dessert of mine since childhood.

So when I finally discovered how to make this dairy-free for my son, it was magical!

The kids love this layered desert as much as I do,

and we indulge endlessly during strawberry season.

And the great news is, we have a huge shortcut for this recipe.

Many of you know I love baking homemade goodies.

But in this case, I pull out the box of baking mix almost every time.

Good old Bisquick, baby. It makes the best shortcakes so why try anything else?!
