Allergist Video: How to Choose an Allergist

Navigating mystery hives, rashes, and GI issues is tricky enough.

When it’s time to find an allergist, we don’t want that to be confusing, too.

This allergist interview will help you save time and frustration in finding the right doctor for you.

how to choose an allergist

This information is for educational purposes only.

Follow your own doctor’s instructions for managing food allergies.

Allergists are like shoes, they aren’t one-size-fits-all.

While that’s a good thing for allergy moms like you and me…

that can also make the task of finding the best fit a little difficult.

I was blessed to be referred to an allergist who was an amazing match for our family right off the bat.

We’ve been with her for 14 years!

But running the Milk Allergy Mom Community for over a decade,

has shown me not every allergy family is this lucky.

Several allergy moms have had to change allergists for one reason or another.

While other moms don’t realize they have a choice and CAN change if it’s not the right doctor for them.

Meanwhile, others may not know there are actually several approaches to food allergy management and treatment,

because they only know what their own doctor recommends.

Once we come to know these variables…

allergy moms often ask our community…

well how DO I find the right allergist for me?

You can often catch these discussions inside Milk Allergy Mom Membership.

Several of our members have changed offices as a result and changed the course of their food allergy journey for the better.

And I also thought this would be a great question to ask the allergist in one of our regular video interviews.

As an allergist, Dr. Siri gave us some insight into colleague approaches that we moms may not understand.

This helps tremendously to know what we are experiencing with our own doctors and to know what else might be out there for us.

As Dr. Bob told us in one of our first video interviews at Milk Allergy Mom, it never hurts to get a second opinion.

However, it’s probably best not to leave one office until you’ve decided where you are going for further care.

Two old adages come to mind.

Don’t burn your bridges.

And the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

But truly, you do have options and allergy care isn’t the same across the board.

So give this allergist interview a listen and take some time to decide if you are in the best place for your family.

Because really, your entire food allergy journey could change and completely turn around with the right doctor for you.

We’ve seen it time and time again.

Our membership is a wonderful place to network and find trusted allergists providing all kinds of management and treatments. Feel free to join us!
