Fruit Sorbet Dairy-Free

strawberry fruit sorbet cone

We were all enjoying strawberry sorbet on cones and as I started to bite into mine,

kiddo jumped for joy.

Oh! You can eat it?!

He had no idea the cone was edible.

Oh my goodness, he’s the cutest.

Now that we have an ice-cream maker (affiliate),

creating fruit sorbets is easier than ever.

I want to make sorbet over and over for this little cutie pie!

It’s just a gel machine so no ice or salt is needed. Totally love it.

So far the boys have loved every sorbet we’ve tried.

SOME FRUIT SORBET FLAVORS

  • banana
  • blackberry
  • strawberry

You can do just about any fruit that you can puree or smash.

I think peach sorbet would be really tasty, too.

Maybe even watermelon?

For our recipe, I have given a range for the sugar.

It just depends on your taste.

FRUIT SORBET DAIRY-FREE

1 cup of fruit puree
1 cup hot water
1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar

Dissolve sugar in the hot water and then stir in the fruit puree.

Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker according to the machine directions.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer.

Hope you love dairy-free fruit sorbet as much as we do!

Cute Cute Boy!

I made strawberry/banana sorbet today and it's to die for! So much better than Hagen Daz, which is produced in the same facility as their milk products.

I'm so glad you tried this first and suggested to cut the sugar because it would have been WAY too sweet with the entire amount added.

I make our sorbet with soy coffee creamer and just a couple Tbsp of sugar. If you'd like to take a look at our recipe, here's the link: http://mustfollowrecipes.blogspot.com/2009/02/dairy-free-sorbet.html

As for the cone, I bet Witt has NO IDEA about eating cones either!!! LOL! It's so sad that allergy kids don't get to enjoy some of the simple pleasures of life... at least until their parents find a safe alternative! :)
