Moon Pie

Kudos to hubs for yet again finding a very unsuspecting treat for the fam!
At Farm and Home, he decided to read the ingredients on these moon pies.
And surprise!
Even the chocolate flavor looked free of milk.
Who would guess?!

We've now safely tried banana, chocolate, and look forward to trying more.
Some readers tell us vanilla is the best.
You can see latest allergen info on the Moon Pie website.
Because of my son's severe cashew allergy,
I actually called the company to ask what specific nuts were in the factory.
The answer was that they make pecan pie on separate lines from the moon pies.
This was awhile ago so you may want to call for yourself.
Readers inform us that Moon Pies can also be found at:
Dollar General
Five Below
and perhaps other dollar stores.
Our label for the chocolate pie is below.
Of course, always check labels for yourself. They can change.
Let us know if you get to try these soon!

Unknown, it probably depends on the brand. 🙂

Hey Jamie. . .first thanks so much for your blog!! My question is. ..what about soy lecithin? I was told it is a dairy protein too??? It's in a lot of the stuff that people post As dairy free. ..I'm confused.
Soy letchin is made from soy. As someone with a dairy allergy it's confusing but safe 🙂
