Even though we've navigated milk allergy at our house for over a dozen years...

I still love finding new, exciting dairy-free products my kids will love.

And today, we have one of those treats!

How many years did I have to resort to making hot chocolate from scratch?

A lot!

Not that it's hard...especially once more dairy-free milk options came on the market.

Rice, soy, almond, coconut, flax, hemp...we can make hot cocoa dairy-free a variety of ways.

In fact, here's the stove top recipe we've always used.

So many sweet memories of serving up dairy-free hot chocolate with marshmallows or dairy-free whip...

and sprinkles, of course.

Always a must for my boys after busy days in the snow...

or nighttime car rides looking at Christmas lights.

Mamas, don't hold out on the hot cocoa.

Whether it's homemade or store bought, your kids won't forget those memories and neither will you.

BUT, I want to let you know about a new, convenient hot cocoa mix that has now taken our family by storm.

It's made by the well-loved Swiss Miss brand...and I'm so glad they thought of us dairy-free families.

This hot cocoa mix is coconut based, my personal favorite.

But we make it with almond milk, my kids' personal favorite.

It's flexible! Use your favorite dairy-free ingredients and toppings.

The label from our box is shown below.

Just be sure to check labels for yourself, too. Ingredients can change.

If you can't do coconut, check out this other hot chocolate mix.

As the weather cools, we hope you can enjoy some delicious, dairy-free hot chocolate soon.

Your family won't forget it.

    1. Coconut, yes. If you're allergic, that won't work. We are allergic to tree nuts but not coconut. We have a recipe to use with your favorite milk. 🙂
