Double Stuffed Oreos

There’s a good chance you found us at one point from our original blog post about Oreos. 

It was one of my first blog posts, in my first years as a milk allergy mom…

and I was determined to be a full-fledged food allergy mom investigator before letting my kiddo eat these cookies. 

Hey, there were NO allergy groups online to ask. 

Can you believe that?

I digress.

With our son’s anaphylactic reaction at 8 months old, 

I was certainly traumatized and not willing to take big risks. 

Oreos seemed waaaaay too good to be true. 

Plus, back then, label laws had JUST went into affect. 

My research was taking me back pre-label laws. 

That meant there was a lot of information to weed through. 

I was referencing PETA, recalls, contacting the company, and more. 

Then good old Buzzfeed at some point considered my extensive leg work to be worthy of mention in their dairy-free snack food round-up. 

And we’ve been getting visitors to that old post on a daily basis ever since.

Sometimes I feel sorry for the people who land on that crazy town blog post, ha ha. 

You can tell the difference between “new allergy mom” and “veteran allergy mom” in my writing style here at Milk Allergy Mom. 

But the blog experts say to embrace the old blog posts, don’t delete them (if still relevant). 

So there it still sits, ready to address “Are Oreos Dairy-Free” for anyone willing to dive in with me. 

Today, though, I’m here to quickly recap that yes, my boys have eaten Oreos like it’s their job for years.

Thirteen years? Where does the time go. 

We mostly stick to classic, double-stuff, mega-stuff (oh dear), and sometimes mint. 

What can I say, mint Oreos make for the most amazing dairy-free Oreo Truffles!

Sometimes we have the yellow Oreos. And the birthday cake Oreos we’ve taken to parties a couple times. 

Plus, you ain’t lived until you’ve indulged in dairy-free and egg-free Oreo Brownies

Don’t judge…Oreos WILL be needed in an emergency, lol.
